Located in San Jose, California, Les voix florissantes is a voice studio offering private voice lessons in classical and musical theatre genres for all levels, as well as coachings for French lyric diction and repertoire. Lessons and coachings are taught in English or in French. Students can expect to:

Dr. Karine St-Pierre
Owner and founder Dr. Karine St-Pierre is a French Canadian soprano and voice teacher, specializing in French lyric diction and repertoire. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Toronto. As a soloist, she has performed in recitals across Canada, France, and the United States. She has sung opera and operetta roles with companies such as Summer Lyric Opera Theatre, the Théâtre lyrique de la Montérégie, the Théâtre d’art lyrique de Laval, and the Productions Belle-Lurette. In 2014, she premiered the cycle Quatre chansons québécoises by composer Matthew de Lacey Davidson in Toronto.
Dr. St-Pierre has held the position of voice instructor for the Toronto Chamber Choir and for the Canadian Opera Company’s Summer Youth Intensive Program. As part of her doctoral project, she developed the Pedagogical Guide to the Interpretation of Nineteenth-Century French Canadian Songs for Voice and Piano, supported by the Government of Quebec’s Fonds de Recherche – Société et Culture. She has presented her research at conferences across North America.
Dr. St-Pierre is an active member of the voice community, serving regularly as an adjudicator for voice festivals, and as a board member and past president of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Additionally, she is a founding member and past president of the University of Toronto’s Student Chapter of NATS.
